From 1970 to 1994, I worked for a private military group based in Panama under contract to various governments, including the U.S. State Department tasked with rescuing kidnap victims in Colombia, Central America and the Caribbean. For ten of those years, I lived on Andros Island in the Bahamas and traveled under a Canadian passport to Cuba, Haiti, and most of the Caribbean Basin.
My work and travels brought me into contact with several mystic-based practitioners, including practitioners of Cuban Santería, Haitian Vodou, and Caribbean Obeah.
During the 80’s, I enjoyed reading the mystical writings of Carlos Castaneda, and the out-of-body experiences of Robert Monroe, and while my first seven novels are in the action/adventure genre, in between these full-length stories, I have been drawn to composing short stories that fit into the magical, mystical, and macabre categories.
From an abstract COVID world to the mystical, macabre, and magical, to the love of a man and a horse, and on to heart-thumping action in a race to save a kidnapped nuclear scientist in the jungles of Panama. These short stories will conjure up all your emotions and take you on enchanted journeys.
